Get an Australian Tax File Number

 
You need a Tax File Number (TFN) if you are going to work in Australia. Without one, you will have to pay the highest rate of tax on your earnings. With a TFN, it will be easier to claim your tax refund.

If you have a fixed address you can apply for your own TFN with the Australian Tax Office. If you are moving around Backpackers Buddy can get a TFN for you, just fill out the form below.


The Australian Tax Office will forward your TFN to Backpackers Buddy in 10-28 days. We will email it to you when it arrives at the Backpackers Buddy office.



 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 


You can start working before you get your TFN. Just tell your employer what your TFN is when you get it. If you have a TFN but can’t remember it you can call the ATO on 13 28 61. If you have any questions, please call Backpackers Buddy on 1300 551 412.
